Our garden flowers in February 2010

February had been an extremely hot season in our country, Malaysia! Eeek, too hot and humid most days, with very infrequent rainfall.

Of course, sun-loving plants in our tropical garden like the Bougainvilleas, Madagascar Periwinkles, White Mussaenda, Euphorbia milii, Ponytail Plant and Yucca, to name a few just love the heat while the Norfolk Pine, Macarthur Palm and Dracaena deremensis had some of their foliage ‘roasted’…poor thing!

Here’s sharing some of our garden photos, taken in February, mostly from our front yard and a couple from the backyard. Enjoy please!

Beautiful photos! Madagascar periwinkle is one of my fav summer annuals. it reseeds here and I know summer has arrived when I see seedlings. Hymenocallis grows wild along the creeks. Hydrangeas are a garden staple. Most of the rest of your flowers are hot house plants here.

Our climates are very similar … but we’ve had a very decent ‘wet’ season this summer as well as the heat and humidity. I recognise all of your lovely plants … we grow some of the same things.
Especially love the colour of your Bougainvillea Aiskrim and your orchids are gorgeous.

    Lovely – thanks for sharing!

You certainly have a lot of flowering plants in your garden. I envy your orchids which are blooming well and they are gorgeous.

Nell Jean – thank you! One of my fave too, periwinkle is so dependable and a great filler…self-seeds and flowers endlessly.

Bernieh – thanks. Isn’t it wonderful to see plant similarities across the globe, yet knowing that there are numerous more that are uncommon among different regions?

Gillian – thanks and it’s really our pleasure!

Autumn Belle – thanks. Shhhh…not so loud, my other half is already pestering me to trim down the number of plants due to ill-health! :)

You have an oasis of green & florals that just flutters the heart – no wonder butterflies and birds loves to visit your garden.

Your garden reminds me how much more I need to tend/prune/clean and another host of “list to do” in my garden.

Thank you, James! Hee hee, you get to see only the best…the section not presented here needs the same manicure as listed. LOL!!
