Garden Updates from May to July 2014

We praise and thank The Almighty God for the joy of His awesome creations almost at our doorstep. Just a few short strides through the front exit/entry door of our home and we step into our little garden paradise. Or just draw the sliding glass-door curtains of our sitting hall and voila… a beautiful view that absolutely enthral us and fill our hearts with joy, happiness and contentment. Ample blessings for the taking to start each day! Thank you, Heavenly Father!

June 2014 garden tour... enjoy!

Tropical flora and fauna abound in our garden, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Plants beget flowers and flowers beget insects and the like. Though small in size, our tropical garden exudes an air of tranquility and serenity that delights us so!

Unfortunately, the peace and calm does get disturb by the passing heavy traffic along the main road outside our home that links to other residential neighbourhoods. Anyway, we’ve learnt to turn deaf to the noise and bustle by concentrating on our passion, that is, gardening and admiring its plentiful rewards! ;)

My darling John and I have packed our garden with as many plants as can be managed. A little sad currently as we’d soon need to start reducing the numbers as yours truly is down again with CA that has metastasized. Received the devastating news on July 1. Hence the reason for this delayed garden update that covers three months from May to July instead of the usual two.

Let the collages below, presenting our flowering plants and garden visitors that were captured during the last 3 months, speak their thousand words, okay? Enjoy please… :D

This bird species, Pycnonotus goiavier (Yellow-vented Bulbul) loves to nest at our backyard so frequently in spite of experiencing failures repeatedly. What a vicious world… predators abound!

Amongst the many colourful cheerleaders in our garden, these blue beauties stood out in the crowd and amazed us with their non-stop blooming!

The Blue Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Endless Summer’… amazing, these shrubs have been with us since early 2007 and still thriving and blooming well!

Tibouchina urvilleana (syn.: T. semidecandra) with vibrant purple blooms… we’re excited that this potted shrub that was propagated from cuttings taken from Cameron Highlands last November has started flowering 6 months later in May and is currently blooming its head off!
