Horticulture Sites

Horticultural sites is a must to visit for any serious gardener or beginner! We’ve found many excellent resources and websites on horticulture and have listed them below.

  • Royal Horticultural Society, UK – This awesome horti website of the RHS, whose goal is to advance excellence in horticulture and promote gardening is THE place to explore and it has so much to offer to anyone interested in gardening, whether you’re a novice or horticulturist! Its homepage lists all the main attractions, though the PLANTS and ADVICE sections are the real attraction of this site for me.

  • The Helpful Gardener – There is an array of articles concerning vegetable, flower, container and Japanese gardening, including sections on gardening tips and garden forums on various topics. Also displayed are directories listing landscape architects and garden designers as well as nurseries and garden centers by state in the United States and Canada.
  • The PLANTS Database – This huge database provides standardized information about the vascular plants, mosses, liverworts, hornworts, and lichens of the U.S. and its territories. It includes names, plant symbols, checklists, distributional data, species abstracts, characteristics, images, crop information, automated tools, onward Web links, and references.
  • USDA’s Gardening Site And Related Portals – Explore and be absorbed with the enormous gardening resources therein! USDA, along with its extension service partners, provide the public with resources related to home gardening, nurseries, horticulture, composting, and landscaping and lots more!
