HAPPY EASTER 2008!

Easter greeting card with Red Dwarf Crown of Thorns (Euphorbia milii), from our gardenJust felt that the image of the Dwarf Crown of Thorns (Euphorbia milii) growing in our garden most appropriate for an Easter greeting card. :)

Besides, offering a connection to Good Friday (where Jesus wore a crown of thorns during His crucifixion), I find the tiny buds, the vibrant green and red, perfectly depicting new life to be experienced with our Resurrected Lord!

ALLELUIA! JESUS CHRIST IS RISEN!

WISHING ONE AND ALL A VERY BLESSED AND JOYFUL EASTER!
MAY THE BLESSINGS OF THE RISEN LORD BRING YOU HOPE, PEACE, JOY, SUCCESS AND CONTENTMENT!

THANK YOU, LORD JESUS…for your death on the cross,
for rising from the dead,
for reconciling us with God through the forgiveness of our sins,
for assuring us of a new life in You,
and for the promise of eternal life.
THANK YOU, JESUS!

The Easter Eucharistic Celebration that my beloved spouse and I attended early this morning was very meaningful. The Celebrant’s homily was lengthy and very thought-provoking, whereby his primary message to us parishioners was Easter is all about peoples’ encounters with the Risen Lord. He emphasized that our encounters with Jesus may not be as dramatic as biblical figures such as Mary Magdala, Thomas and Paul, but should manifest in a radical conversion in the everydayness of our lives, thoughts, behaviours, attitudes, etc.

Thus, I pray that we, in our daily encounter with the Risen Christ, will rejoice in His unconditional love and mercy for us, and allow The Holy Spirit to transform us as true children of our Heavenly Father.

Sharing here is the ever popular hymn that is sung during Easter, year in and year out in our parish :

EASTER SONG

  1. My Lord, he died for a kingdom
To redeem the hearts of men
Now, my people, don’t you weep
He has risen from his sleep
    He lives again, alleluia

    Refrain:
Sing alleluia, the Lord is risen
    He is risen indeed, alleluia
  2. My Lord came forth like the morning
With the splendour of the sun
    Came triumphant from the womb
From the darkness of the tomb
    The victory won, alleluia
    Repeat Refrain
  3. My Lord united our mountains
    With the everlasting hills
Now the seasons and the sea
    Sing his song of victory
    Rock and rills, alleluia
    Repeat Refrain
  4. My Lord renewed all creation
That had waited late and long
Now we all with one accord
Live and love the risen Lord
This is our song, this is our song, alleluia
    Repeat Refrain
