Advent 2008 Project

Year 2008 is fast approaching to an end! And Christmas will be rolling in soon with the blink of an eye, so to speak. Am I ready to meet my Savior, Jesus Christ? Will I stay awake and be in a state of alertness and preparedness to greet Him?

The season of Advent is a gracious and opportune time to be drawn closer to Jesus. It started yesterday, November 30 which marks the start of the Catholic Church’s Liturgical Calendar Year, beginning on the fourth Sunday before Christmas Day and will end on Christmas Eve, December 24.

It is a wonderful season of joyful hope and expectation, spiritual preparation and longing for the coming(s) of Jesus Christ, the Messiah and Light of the World. Know more about Advent at Catholic Online and Christian Resource Institue.

So I thought what better way is there than to try to immerse myself in the Bible, God’s Living Word during Advent season and allow His Spirit to transform my heart and mind. Seek first the kingdom of God and all things will be added unto you.

Hence, my Advent project is to match some bible verses with the spelling of the name Jesus Christ, with relevance to His gifts and promises, as shared in the appended table below.
