Presenting another way of accessing our tropical plant database with ease, by way of digital photo thumbnails.
Moving the mouse over the image thumbnails will display both the botanical and common names of plants, whilst clicking on the desired plant’s thumbnail will lead you to its profile, growing instructions, and more pictures and links to their larger versions. Enjoy!
New plant images will be added from time to time, so do pop in often!

We have gardened in many places…the last being Kansas City,MO. Now we live in Costa Rica…tropicals are new to me except in the indoor house plant market. You sight was very helpful to me in identifying many plants I get at the mercados or nurseries in La Garita but can only get a Spanish common name for the plants. Thanks for such an easy to use and detailed site with loads of photos. You made my project easier.

Thank you so much for bringing smiles to our faces with your generous and kind comment, Jeanita. Really appreciate you taking the trouble to share your thoughts and gratitude. Makes our effort in sharing our gardening passion online so gratifying! :-D
Cheers and happy gardening!

Just wanted to compliment you on your site. I’ve started photography again after a break of around 10 years and have found your site invaluable and very well done. I’ve shot some flowers here in South Florida that I haven’t found names for yet, but your site is a tremendous resource.
Thank you for all your hard work.

Oh Larry, you really make our day with your generous appreciation! Thanks so much for the smiles.
Frankly, it gives us much joy sharing our gardening passion online and in return, we’ve received much more, such as…know more about proper gardening and plants’ names/profile, improve my IT knowledge and writings, make new friends online, my photography that started about 4 years ago has improved greatly, etc… All these are contributing to a more pleasurable and enjoyable lifestyle in our golden years, not forgetting grateful readers like you who keep us smiling and joyful the whole day through… :)

Sorry, it’s not in our plant database, Chambas! Thanks for your thanks though.
