August 2007 in our tropical garden!
Another colorful month, which I’d like to dedicate to all our flowering orchids – the Dendrobium Phalaenopsis! Just four delightful species shone throughout this month but sufficient to brighten our whole frontyard…hehe, but of course, since the area is pretty small, heh!

Orthetrum sabina, a slender-bodied chartreuse dragonfly
Orthetrum sabina sabina (Slender/Green Skimmer, Green Marsh Hawk)
What a wonderful coincidence! While googling for the identity of my red dragonfly, I came across the ID for this beautiful chartreuse one that I captured in April this year! My very first capture of a dragonfly in our frontyard garden.
I can clearly recall its apparent collaboration [...]
Orthetrum testaceum, a broad-bodied red dragonfly
Orthetrum testaceum testaceum
What a stunning red beauty, this dragonfly of the Orthetrum species is!
I’ve frequently seen it flying by our garden though more concentrated along the monsoon drain outside our backyard. It flies swiftly to and fro as if staking its claim over the route it plies! How blessed I was to be able [...]
Ornamental foliage of Caladium lindenii ‘Magnificum’ (Angel’s Wing)

A highly recommended foliage plant if you love variegated leaves! We do!
Caladium lindenii ‘Magnificum’ with its striking feature of almost deep bluish green against its silvery white venation is definitely a wonderful addition to our garden! Besides, it is quite hardy and so easy to grow and [...]
Beautiful variegated foliage of Pteris ensiformis cv. Evergemiensis (Silver Lace Fern)
Pteris ensiformis cv. Evergemiensis (Silver Lace Fern, Slender Brake Fern)
This remarkable fern with its beautiful variegated splendour is another of our highly admired beauty among the foliage plants that thrive in our garden.
How blessed we are to have a tropical climate of hot and sunny, humid and wet weather throughout the year! Just perfect for [...]
Photoshop tutorial – Extracting objects to create a fun photo collage

It is now my latest passion as I aspire to experiment and learn more tricks and techniques from Photoshop CS2 and the internet. Having recently experimented how to extract objects, resize, reposition and rotate images, I’d [...]
