Nolina recurvata (Ponytail/Bottle Palm)
Nolina recurvata (Ponytail Plant, Ponytail/Bottle Palm, Elephant’s Foot)
This impressive palm-like succulent plant had been in our garden for about 5 years now.
Among all its common names, we love ‘Ponytail’ best as it fits it beautifully, with its bluish-green leaves ‘tied together’ and cascading down giving an appearance of a pony tail!

Knowledge is power
Yep! So, I’m resolve to go back to school at this very ripe old age, not to learn the basics of algebra, but the basics of HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) and as much as I can grasp on related web matters! Otherwise, I’ll be left stranded with lots of ideas but no progress at [...]
Mary’s Awesome Country Garden in New Zealand
A MUST garden visit to the Canterbury Plains of South Island at Christchurch, New Zealand! An impressive country garden belonging to the remarkable and extraordinay head gardener, Moosey as she’s lovingly known. And a must garden REVISITS, especially to read her garden updates in her entertaining journals!
Look and See!

Her skyscape photos are so stunning and I’m so envious just thinking of them!

Definitely a must garden visit! This magnificent place belongs to this very passionate gardener, Ms Liza whom I’ve the greatest pleasure to chat with as she guides me and the rest of our gardening community into her well-maintained pristine garden. Breath-takingly beautiful and fully alive with bountiful blooms of every colour and form! Be prepared [...]
Jack’s Magical Garden (Sequoia Farm) in South Africa
Put on my globetrotting sneakers today and travelled to the wonderland of my flamboyant friend, Jack Holloway at Sequoia Farm, Haenertsburg in South Africa. Wow, was I entralled with his spectacular garden scenes in late spring and awesome pictures presented! Recalling too that I’ve visited this same magical ‘ancient’ garden a few months ago and [...]
